Roger's view of the conditions necessary for therapeutic improvement
changed relatively little over the years after he first formulated them.
However, one addition is noteworthy. It is the notion of presence. Rogers
gradually came to believe that "perhaps I have stressed too much the three
basic conditions" and that, in addition to these three relative objective
features of the therapeutic setting, there was another feature that was more
elusive, difficult to describe, almost mystical, yet of much importance.
"When I am intensely focused on a client, "Rogers came to believe,"just
my presence seems to healing". Rogers became aware that, in particularly
successful therapeutic encounters, he himself experienced his own core self
in interaction with his clients, and responded to them in a deeply intuitive
way that they sometimes were able to share with him. "I may behave in
strange and impulsive ways in the relationship, ways which I cannot justify
rationally… but these strange behaviors turn out to be right… my inner
spirit has reached out and touched the inner spirit of the other". To the
client-centered therapist, these deeply intuitive almost spiritual
encounters can be highly transformative. Interpersonal experience between
client and therapist that seem "beyond words and logic" are thought to
foster deep psychological change.
二、我的情緒/感覺
看完這段課文,我覺得很感動。課文中提到了三個人本主義的基本情境條件「一致」、
「無條件的正向關懷」、「同理心」。Rogers覺得在這三個情境下,他在諮商與心理治
療過程中,感受到了自己與案主的內心、靈魂上的交流。也許這些感性的想法真的不可
言喻,但卻潛在一股感動與改變案主的力量。過去以來,人本主義受到了一些批評,例
如不夠科學、不能夠下嚴謹的操作型定義,但是我覺得,人本主義真的是一股暖流,提
供了使人前進的正向力量。
三、我感到感動,因為這樣我聯想到什麼/因為什麼我會有這些感受
寫到這裡,我聯想到了過去以前找過老師談話抒發情緒,或是參加營隊分享自己的家
庭、人際、課業等等問題,到這次聽同學的報告甚至自己做報告。以前在我悶悶不樂的
時候,聽到了來自老師的關懷。參加營隊,經歷過會心團體,多多少少吐出了我的喜怒
哀樂與陰晴圓缺。到我參與報告,感受到了組內外同學不為人知的一面。我感受到,自
己其實還很幸福,擁有一個還算舒適的生活。除此之外,也漸漸在談天過程中,不管是
同學間的閒話家常,或是情緒上的發洩,人際上的溫暖使我感受到了驅使自我實現的正
向力量,往往心情就因此變好了。回想起來,覺得自己要達到在人際上,抱持著「一
致」、「無條件的正向關懷」、「同理心」是一件非常困難的事情,不過這卻是人性光
明面之一,我會試著去遵行這三個情境原則,帶給需要幫助的人更多的正向力量。
